SCAL’IN® was founded more than ten years ago by Thomas Choquet. Trained in masonry alongside his father, Thomas lived as close as possible to the issues on the field: interior design, formwork techniques, search for the best materials and methods, optimization of energy performance.
2010
In 2010, he innovated and patented his manufacturing process with the support of engineers from the prestigious “Ecole des Mines d’Alès” in France. Concrete turns out to be a particularly malleable material, which allows the most daring creations, for stairs.
2015
In 2015, he joined forces with Alain Barona, a specialist in guardrails. Together, they founded SCAL’IN® Guardrails. Thus, they provide a complete solution that is both design and respectful of the standards for all concrete, waxed concrete and guardrail projects (including privacy screens and window sills). Together, they have built and developed a network of independent SCAL’IN® experts to ensure quality advice, availability, and implementation in France and Europe.
2018
In 2018, SCAL’IN® launches SCAL’IN® Waxed Concrete for all waxed concrete projects, both indoors and outdoors. The art of waxed concrete by SCAL’IN® is the guarantee of a chic and sober decoration for a result with a contemporary design.
2022
In 2021, after an in-depth study of the concrete market in the United States, he decided to develop his activity and his network of independent experts in California.
